These are all my experiences using different selling platforms from 2020 to the present. some of these platforms I've used the entirety of dizzy leopard shop, some only for under a year. this is the persective of just me and my personal opinions
Pros
despite having drop shipped items now, the main customer base still wants to find unique, human-made items
solid search features. when used like a social media with proper tags, it can bring lots of eyes to your work
Cons
there are a lot of small fees per sale that, if not kept track of, can cut into your pocket more than you'd think
sales are initially slow to pick up. new items typically take a few weeks before getting regular sales
Pros
entirely free version that allows decent amount of customization
has an anti-ai shield to prevent data scraping of your works
Cons
free version limits how many items you are allowed to post (50) before needeing membership
Pros
the most versatile and customizable (similar coding to deviantart/tumblr)
not just a selling platform, it's a website that can double as a portfolio, blog, etc
in depth shop/customer analytics
Cons
expensive starting fee ( $300+ for 1 year)
most traffic to your website will need to be self-driven
Pros
your store can get a lot of views easily
tiktok affiliate program means people can make videos to sell your items for you
shipping costs aren't taken from your pocket - they are entirely customer or platform paid
Cons
extremely high selling fees - around 16%
seller requirements are high. orders need to be fulfilled quickly and there is a scoring system for penalties against tos
